2012

Yes it’s the year 2012 which I am talking about. May be you must be knowing about what is going to happen in this year but to be more specific in date it’s the December 21, 2012 and to be more specific in events lets see what others are calling it. Many people are calling it the complete destruction of the world; many are calling it a change of the race of man similar to the one 26000 years ago in which the Neanderthal race could not justify its existence; many are calling it a destruction in Noah’s time 5200 years ago or as the one in which Atlantis and many other parts of the world were obliterated 10400 years ago and many are calling it a destruction on much larger scale as compared to the previous events.
How and why? These questions splash in our minds when we hear such words. Ok I would be making it clearer by talking about two things- an old civilization- The Mayan Civilization and a planet- Planet X.
Let’s talk something about the Mayan civilization. This civilization was as old as 2600 BC and their area extended throughout the southern Mexican states. At that time, the Mayans were very good at art, architecture, and mathematical and astronomical systems. They built highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. Using their skills, Mayans built their calendar which consisted of 5125 years and it ends on December 21, 2012. People interpreted this calendar in different ways. Many say that Mayans calculated when this world will come to an end and hence they ended their calendar on that particular date. Many say that any how Mayans had to end their calendar on particular date and hence they chose this arbitrary date.
Let’s talk about Planet-X. This is a planet that orbits our sun every 3600 years. This planet has been referred to as Planet X. It gets its name from being an elusive planet. The first real pictures Planet X were photographed shortly after January 26, 1983, when NASA launched the Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS). The astronomers calculated that Planet X was over 50 million miles away from us at that time. In 2004 Planet X was determined to be only 7 million miles away. It's moving closer. Confirmation of the tenth planet "Planet X" was photographed n in Japan on February 28, 2008. Planet X exists, and it will be here by the end of 2012. Planet X will appear as two suns in the sky to us, no later than 2011. Planet X will be returning from its 3600 year orbit around our solar system. Which will bring with it six orbiting satellites with it. This return of Planet X will disrupt our solar system, and especially Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Venus, and the Earth. Planet X will enter our solar system at the edge and cross orbits with Jupiter. Jupiter could ignite at this time and become a baby sun. Nibiru will pass between the Earth on the Sun. This will cause the two suns to be seen by everyone in the world. Everyday people will be able to view the two suns by May of 2011 the latest.
Beside the above events, there are some more events which are likely to happen at the end of 2012 which can cause devastation. Let’s discuss about them in brief.
Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy; it's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012.
Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.
We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that shields us from most of the sun's radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call north and south have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so - and right now we're about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is underway, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.
The sun, earth, and milky way will align at the galactic equator, on December 21, 2012, the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, and the end of the Mayan calendar. This only happens every 25,800 years! For the first time in recorded history, our entire solar system will move below the Milky Way galaxy. These combined cosmic events, will be the end of the world as we know it. About 6 billion people of the world will perish in just a few short years if this cosmic catastrophe occurs.
Now coming to religious point of view on this topic many discussions could be made. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between Good and Evil, has been set down for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.
Based on such type of events many movies have been made. You must be remembering one movie- “Armageddon” starring Bruce Willis. One more movie-“2012” by Roland Emmerich, the director of the movie-“The Day after Tomorrow” is getting released in November 2009. I hope the movie would be as interesting as “The day after tomorrow”.
I don’t know whether you know or not that one of the signs of Qayamat (Dooms Day) is that sun will rise from the west. May be due to those events the sun will start rising from the west and will set in the east. May be due to the change in magnetic polarity of the earth our compasses would show that the sun rises from the west. Any thing can happen, Allah knows better. The above phenomenon is called the retrograde motion. I would be discussing on this topic sometime later in detail.
The stance of the Qur’an on this issue is clear from the following verse: “They ask you [Prophet] about the end of the world, saying, ‘When will it be?’ How can you tell them that? Its time is known only to your Lord. You are only sent to warn those who fear it.” (Qur’an 79:42-45)
The point is that when Allah says that something is “known only to your Lord”, it means that it is something that cannot be discovered by man, such as a person’s lifespan. Many people try to predict a number of things and we assume that, because of the advances in science and technology, we can also have knowledge similar to what Allah has. However, think about how many times the weather report has been wrong despite all the satellites and advanced equipment, how many people were supposed to die but lived, and how many people were supposed to have lived but died. All of these things remind us of how far we really are from Allah’s knowledge. As for using the Maya calendar, we need to stop and think about a number of things. First, how many predictions did they make? Second, what were their predictions about? Third, what was the rate of accuracy in all of their predictions and why they aren’t being used as mainstream evidence? Fourth, where did they get this knowledge from?
We must be very critical of people who claim to know the future. Most people who make such a claim are frauds while the others are merely guessing. It’s like horoscopes which are written in such a general way that people think they can actually tell the future when, in reality, they don’t. We shouldn’t be fooled by such things, even if they are packaged and presented in the name of science. Science is a very useful tool, but it is often misused and twisted to fit a certain agenda or just to sell a book. When all is said and done, remember that just because the sun has risen from the east for millions of years doesn’t mean that Allah can’t change it tomorrow and make it rise from the west. We must remember that just as our own lives are in the hands of Allah, so is the life of the world, and He can end it whenever He likes. May Allah allow us to utilize our limited lives with what pleases Him before our time is up.
Sorry to make the article so long. I usually don’t write such long articles, but I hope it would have been an interesting one to read.
